Big thanks to our volunteer ice crew

A big round of applause to our volunteer ice crew and their tireless efforts to provide Bourkevale Community Centre with the best outdoor ice in the city. Despite 20 centimetres of blowing snow and frigid temperatures this past weekend, our ice crew had both rinks cleared and ready to go for skating by Saturday afternoon. We were one of the few community centre ice rinks open this weekend. In case you don't know, all the work putting in the ice and maintaining it throughout the season is done by local volunteers. A big thanks to Ron Templeton, Jeff Valgardson, Scotty Nystrom, Andrew Kelch and Mike Templeton for their great work on the ice this season. From those of us who use and enjoy the ice regularly, we salute you!

Annual General Meeting

Bourkevale will be holding its annual general meeting online via Zoom on May 17 at 7 pm. All are welcome to take part in the virtual meeting.
A club update will be provided and board members will be elected.
Details on how to join the meeting will be posted here prior to the AGM.

Public toilet

Bourkevale has added an outdoor public toilet to its grounds (east side, south of front door) as a service to the community. The porta potty is cleaned once a week and is available for all to use.

Hall rentals

**Bourkevale is not accepting new bookings at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic**

Bourkevale's main hall is available for a variety of events and functions, including birthday parties, wedding and baby showers, anniversaries and even weddings. It's a great place to hold a business meeting or a small to medium-sized AGM.

For more details about renting, including rates, click here.

To make a booking, contact our hall rental director at bcchallrental@gmail.com.

Bourkevale board meetings - get involved!

Bourkevale holds its monthly board of directors meetings every third Thursday of the month in the main hall. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. and are open to the public. We encourage area residents who are interested in finding out more about the club or who want to get more involved to attend.
Bourkevale is run by a volunteer board of directors from the community. Without community involvement, the club would not exist.

How do I get involved with Bourkevale Community Centre?

That's a great question. Your connection with Bourkevale CC can be anywhere from volunteering for a single event to getting more involved at the board level. But don't let the "board" level scare you away.
Our board is comprised of friendly, community-minded people who want the best for our kids and families. We volunteer our time to ensure Bourkevale survives as a community centre and to maintain the important services it provides. Mostly, though, we have a lot of fun.
Why not join us? If you'd like to ask a few questions about what Bourkevale is all about, send us an e-mail at bourkevale@gmail.com.
You won't regret it. We guarantee it.
