Bourkevale Community Centre: Hockey

Bourkevale Community Centre provides youth hockey programs through the St. James-Assiniboia Minor Hockey Association under the umbrella of the Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association (for website, please click here.)

Bourkevale traditionally hosts two to four youth hockey teams per season that play games indoors but practice regularly at the club's outdoor ice rinks. Bourkevale's 9A1 hockey team won the city championship in 2010/11 and their pennant is displayed proudly in the club's skate room.

Hockey registration is now accepted online. Please visit St. James-Assiniboia Minor Hockey Association for all information regarding hockey registration this year.

Bourkevale News

• Bourkevale has renovated its kitchen! It looks fabulous and provides those preparing and serving meals at the club with a whole new atmosphere. The upgrades were funded entirely by Bourkevale Community Centre, including fundraising and other self-generated revenues by the club.

• Bourkevale's yoga class resumed Jan. 8 and runs every Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m.. Drop in fee is $5 and please bring your own mat.

• Bourkevale's Moms and Me program runs from 9:15 - 11:15 a.m. every Tuesday.

• Next Bourkevale CC board meeting is Thursday May 16, at 7 p.m. Board meetings are held at the club and are open to the public.

How do I get involved with Bourkevale Community Centre?

That's a great question. Your connection with Bourkevale CC can be anywhere from volunteering for a single event to getting more involved at the board level. But don't let the "board" level scare you away.

Our board is comprised of friendly, community-minded people who want the best for our kids and families. We volunteer our time to ensure Bourkevale survives as a community centre and to maintain the important services it provides. Mostly, though, we have a lot of fun.
